Seattle designer, Yasuko Kurisaka, was born in Kurisaka, Kurashiki, Japan on land owned by her family for over a thousand years. Drawing on her Japanese heritage and creating fabrics with artisan weavers in a small village in Thailand, Yasuko Kurisaka has been designing beautiful art to wear for several decades. Her flowing silhouettes reflect the beauty and simplicity of traditional Japanese design. Her fabrics embody centuries of the art of handwoven textiles, textures and natural dyes.
