Historic Copper Engraving "Book of Medals" Pendant
Historic copper engraving from the 1745 Book of Medals encased in glass and sterling silver. It is a two-sided pendant showing both sides of the original medal issued after settlement of a dispute between England and Sweden in 1697. One side depicts a terrestrial globe with an olive branch held jointly by Peace and Mercury over the continent of Europe, while the reverse shows Peace lying under an olive tree. Strung on an olive green vegan suede cloth with a sliding sterling silver bead. It can be adjusted to any length. Longest length is 36” (46cm) and pendant diameter is 1.25” (3cm). $110.
